I LOVE COLORADO!


We had a crazy spring storm over the weekend. IT dumped a foot and a half of snow dump down on us.
In two days it was melted and gone. Yesterday we went swimming at an outdoor splash park. Before our snow clothes are dry we are sunburned and drying swimsuits. I love COLORADO!

Are Sundays tough on any other toddlers? We have church at 1. Nap time is at 1 so there are no naps on Sundays and it is SO HARD on the kids. When we got home from church the kids sat down on the couch and both were out in seconds. Oh I forget how wonderful routine is until it is smashed once a week.

Happy Easter!

I love Easter. I love the opportunity to think on Jesus Christ and the blessings we have because of his sacrifice. I am so thankful for the opportunity to live again after death, but also the truly live in this life.
I tried telling Jensen the reason we got candy and Easter baskets. I told him the Easter bunny is happy about Jesus so he gives us presents. He didn't quite get it - maybe next year.

WeWe got together with about 10 families from our ward and had a little egg hunt. IT WAS SO COLD! I felt bad for the kids.

Jensen understood the concept of picking up the eggs this year. He picked up a blue egg and a yellow one- then he realized there were GREEN eggs. He ran around the rest of the time only picking up the green eggs. Funny kid.

Lily had fun opening all the candy and stuffing as much in her mouth at one time as she could.

She also has discovered her inner princess. A friend gave us a little Cinderella out fit. She loves it!

I FINALLY FINISHED ONE OF MY PROJECTS! I have been working on this one for a year! I took some wooden boards and painted them with Jensen's favorite vehicles. We mounted them up in his room and he loves them. He has Dave sing him songs about his trucks and airplanes and trains every night.

WE ARE PREGNANT!

Well I am at any rate. I am no good at keeping anything quiet so most of you know already anyway. But I had to make it official so I could say- I hate, HATE, HaTe hAtE my first trimesters.

I think this one has been my worst so far. So I don't throw up all the time. I truly feel sorry for those who do. I just feel sick all the time. Not just morning sickness, all day and really bad at night sickness. I feel so bad for my husband he work hard all day he is tired and just wants to relax. He walks in the door singing songs and hugging kids. He does the dishes and makes dinner and takes care of the kids while I am a lump on the couch. So I'm looking forward to a month maybe two months from now when I feel better and I can serve him. I LOVE MY UNSELFISH HUSBAND.

Any way Now that I am done complaining. I am really excited to be pregnant. I haven't been to the doctor yet but the baby will probably come in November YEAH!

So ever since we moved in Dave has dreamed of having a "Man Cave" in our basement. He gathered up office cubical walls from someone in our ward. He set up his electronics, installed lighting and electrical plugs and had a LAN party. He and my brother had a couple of friends over and had fun with their computer games while watching stuff on the projector.

I've been busy setting up my Square foot garden. I'm excited about having a garden and having space to grow things in:)

Ode to Lily

I thought it would be a good time to celebrate Lily because SHE WENT TO NURSERY ON SUNDAY! I think every parent waits excitedly for the day they can sit in Sunday school without wrestling with their child. I think there needs to be a pre-nursery nursery. The last three months before nursery is is TORTURE! But all is well Lily has arrived at that coveted 18 months and went to nursery. And she went in great and didn't have any problems at all. YEAH!!!Lily is my little dirt eater. Every single time we go outside she munches on atleast three mouthfuls of dirt. And no matter how many times her face reflects disgust she will go back for more.

Tiana got married!

I went out to Utah this weekend for Tiana's wedding. It was so fun and nice to be around family. I missed my kids and Dave did a wonderful job with the kids at home all by himself.Tiana all excited!


The bridesmaids. My mom sewed the dresses and she dis a good job. Celeste and Afton were 8 months pregnant and and Marcia and I are like 20 sizes different in dress sized. That is quite a sewing feat! God job mom.

I made vest and bow ties for the nephews. They were super cute.

The five kids! All together for the first time in three years. We missed Don. He is out in Iraq with the marines. Keep him in your prayers.

COSTA RICA

So for those of you who remember- we planned on going to Costa Rica last New Years but missed our flight by 24 hours. Here is the link to last year's blog about it. http://mikidees.blogspot.com/2008/01/costa-rica-we-have-been-planning-to.html We actually made it this year. And it was awesome!

The night before we got a little scare. I picked Lily up by her arm and her elbow dislocated. So here I am at the ER 2 hours before we were supposed to leave thinking. It is happening again we won't make it and it is ALL MY FAULT! The doctor popped her little arm back into place and every thing turned out okay but I learned

NEVER PICK YOU KIDS UP BY ONLY THEIR ARMS!!!!!!!!

When we got our boarding passes we were SO excited because we were actually going this year. My dear friend Mandy came and was awesome enough to watch Jensen, Lily and Brooklyn, Celeste's daughter, for us. And it was a good thing too.

We flew from midnight till 5 am then drove two hours to a volcano and then 6 hours after that. The kids would have gone crazy! The Volcano was pretty awesome. I'll have Dave, the resident Geologist tell you more about it.

And Costa Rica is in the middle of the Jungle. So it is pretty cool to see things you don't normally get to see. Like plants with leaves that are bigger than I am! We walked out on crocodile bride. And WOW just sitting there was a swarm of crocs! In the wild! It was awesome.

We went to a reptile zoo. It was so much fun there were awesome snakes and a kimono dragon.

The dragon's really smart. She is as smart as a dog or a pig and responds to her name. But also has over 50 killer bacteria in it's mouth.

Two male lizards that hung out by our pool and fought all day long. ZIP LINE through the jungle!

During our Zip line tour our guide pointed out the leaf cutter ants. They were awesome. They have quantity control ants who reject the leaves that won't grow the fungus that they eat.

He then brought us to the ant hill, which was literally an entire hillside. And he banged on the side. Big huge solider ants came crawling out. He explained that the ants don't bite but instead they pinch. And their heads, after they had been removed from their body, were used as stitches. He asked for a volunteer. And really would it be me if I didn't volunteer? So I HAD A SOLIDER ANT BITE ME! :)

A cool little waterfall we walked to.

Dave and I and Celeste and Brad drove on an ATV tour. I LOVE DRIVING ATVS! On our ATV ride. Went to a waterfall. and of course 30 seconds after arriving I slipped down some rocks landed in the water and cut up my hand! I have come to a conclusion. I know I am klutzy and so when I fall I'm not disappointed.
Mom and Dave and I rode horses through the jungle. It was so beautiful! I hadn't rode horses for such a long time before. I was sore for three days afterwards.

We rode horses to this amazing waterfall. The tour guide swam out there with a rope and climbed up through the rushing water and tied off a rope to have us to climb up. It took a little gathering of courage. But it was so much fun. Watch the red shorts.
