HELP!
The McDonald's aren't sleeping.

So there we were... on Sunday morning we had just laid both kids down for a nap before church and Dave and I (not ones to pass up the opportunity) laid down to take a nap as well. Suddenly Dave jumped out of bed and told me "Some one's in the house." We went out to the front room to discover Jensen happily playing by himself.

JENSEN LEARNED TO CLIMB OUT OF HIS CRIB !

AND

HOW TO TURN/OPEN THE SAFETY HANDLE DOORKNOB!

Jensen has never slept well but not being confined to his crib just pushed him over the edge. He only slept one hour all day, and didn't go to sleep until 1:30 a.m. He climbs out of his pack and play, and untied the tie we put around his ankles. I laid down on his floor to sleep in there with him, but he thought it was playtime. We finally switched the doorknob from Dave and I's room to Jensen's and we locked him in.

WHAT ELSE CAN I DO? HELP ME

Wow, that's tough! I have no suggestions, but those are some pretty impressive climbing skills for a one year old!

My friend recently had to deal with that. They moved their son into a big boy bed so that he could eventually lay himself back down. And yes, they had to lock him in. Good luck!

I also think that a big boy bed might be good for Jensen, and locking him in once in awhile probably wouldn't be a bad idea so he doesn't hurt himself. Oh the joys of parenting. Good Luck, and I hope you get some good sleep soon!!

Danica, that seriously makes me want to cry because that means Rylee is not far behind! She climbed out of her crib twice, but then landed with a thud and cried and then went to sleep. I guess it's time for a big boy bed. I'm all for locking him until he just passes out from exhaustion on the floor! Good luck and let us know how it goes!

They make little tents (they're like canopies with netting) that you can attach to cribs to keep children in their cribs. My advise: get a tent and keep that boy in there as long as you can. Ha ha. Seriously though, just because a kid can crawl out of a crib does NOT mean he's ready for a big kid bed (according to Dr. Sears). Hope it gets better with that monkey of yours!! ;o)

I'm sorry Danica... That is not the optimal situation. Have you tried an electric collar? Just zap him when he leaves the crib.

I recently found an item called a crib tent. I don't know if you have heard of it, but it seems like a good idea. Though I can only imagine that Jensen would find a way to get out anyways.
