Spring break jaunt-

It is spring break and we planned to take the family the seven hour drive down to Carlsbad caverns in New Mexico. Well in hopes of keeping this baby cooking in my tummy for as long as possible we changed plans and went to Colorado Springs ( an hour away) to The Cave of the Winds. I chilled out in the BEAUTIFUL sunshine while the rest of the fam went down in the caves.

Parker our exchange student is coo-coo for coco puffs and airplanes. So we stopped by the Air Force Acadamy. This is the little walk to se the base. Dave just asked the kids "Are you tired? Do you need a nap?" "No we have lots of en-rengy"

One of Dave's favorite things is to track the passage of a year with his facial hair. A winter beard, spring and fall goatee, and summer clean shaven. He says that if I ever wake out of a comma I can look at his face and see what season it is and know how much time has passed. This winter he out did himself I got him some mustache wax and beard conditioner for Christmas so he went all out. It was pretty darn big and bushy by March 1st which was shaving day!He knows it looks a little pervy so he is offering some candy and twisting his mustache.

He is keeping the mustache for the weekend and then starting clean for his spring goat.

And in other news-

We were pretty close to moving to a bigger house here in Highlands Ranch. There were a couple things that didn't work out as planned. We felt good about staying where we are for a while longer. I'm just REALLY glad we are not moving a month before the baby comes:)

Utah was great. We changed our travel schedule to miss the big storm. We left at 6:30pm Wednesday night and arrived in Spanish Fork, Utah at 2:40am Thursday morning. We missed all the bad weather and had a quick and safe drive.Thursday we got ready for the work in the basement on Friday and the baptism and baby blessing on Saturday. Friday the ladies got food ready for the baptism and all the guys went down to the basement and installed 1200 square feet of insulation. It was a hard itchy day but we have it done. Josh just needs to button up on or 2 little things and then he can hire some dry wall guys to come in and knock it out. Saturday was the baby blessing and the baptism. Both were great, everything went well and it was a good experience. Then we went to a reception at josh’s parents’ house and then changed clothes and went 4 wheeling and shooting guns. My father shot his .221 bolt action handgun. Jensen shot a .22 rifle with a scope and hit a pop bottle at 20 yards. He was very excited. Drove home Sunday and missed the snow in Vail. It was flurrying as we drove over the pass. We got back into town and had to dig our way into our house. The cat was still aliveUtah was great. We changed our travel schedule to miss the big storm. The kids make at least 4 "forts" a week. I'm glad blankets are relatively easy to clean up. Because they get every single one they can get a hold of.
