Utah was great. We changed our travel schedule to miss the big storm. We left at 6:30pm Wednesday night and arrived in Spanish Fork, Utah at 2:40am Thursday morning. We missed all the bad weather and had a quick and safe drive.Thursday we got ready for the work in the basement on Friday and the baptism and baby blessing on Saturday. Friday the ladies got food ready for the baptism and all the guys went down to the basement and installed 1200 square feet of insulation. It was a hard itchy day but we have it done. Josh just needs to button up on or 2 little things and then he can hire some dry wall guys to come in and knock it out. Saturday was the baby blessing and the baptism. Both were great, everything went well and it was a good experience. Then we went to a reception at josh’s parents’ house and then changed clothes and went 4 wheeling and shooting guns. My father shot his .221 bolt action handgun. Jensen shot a .22 rifle with a scope and hit a pop bottle at 20 yards. He was very excited. Drove home Sunday and missed the snow in Vail. It was flurrying as we drove over the pass. We got back into town and had to dig our way into our house. The cat was still aliveUtah was great. We changed our travel schedule to miss the big storm. On week 19 of the pregnancy and still feeling pretty sick. But the good news is we find out what sex the baby is next Wendsday. So log any guesses:)

It was Charley's 2nd Birthday.

She got a baby and a pillow pet and some great art supplies. Charley's little personality is budding. She is EXTREMLY independent. She likes to pick out her own clothes and won't let me even help her at all. even while I am writing this she is coming over saying "Do buttons" then as soon as I touch her dress she runs away saying "I do it." She is a little chatterbox who repeats everything said. She tries to do everything JJ and Lily do. And she love coloring. she will sit quietly with a marker for 1/2 hour just doodling. I love my little Charley. She is even partially potty training herself. I'm still feeling pretty terrible from this pregnancy. I showed her pullups and that she gets a candy for trying. She gets it about 1 in 5 times she tries.

Why oh why does this have to be so hard? The kids are excited I'm not sure if they are more excited for the new baby, or for mom to stop saying 'no because I feel sick'. But I'm at 12 weeks now so the end is in sight. Pray we will make it at least another month!

Austrailian Visit

Dave's brother Jason and his wife and thier youngest son, James, and Dave's mom and Dad came to visit. Jason and his crew live in Austrailia. So it was my first time meeting them and Dave's first time seeing his bro in 7 years. It was a lot of fun to meet them and hang out with them.

They really don't have Halloween in Austrailia but because Sarah is awesome and she has adopted a lot of American holidays for Jason. They celebrate Thanksgiving and Independance day and Halloween. Everytime we went into a store that had any Halloween stuff Sarah went googly eyed.

Little James and Charley have birthdays only days apart. So we did a little early celebration with icecream cakes for the adults and cupcakes for the kids. We had a lot of fun listing to Sarah say Carmel Turtle in an American accent me and trying to say it in an Aussie accent.

Ear piercing and Exchange students

Lily worked really hard for two weeks to earn getting her ears pierced. I was pretty amazed by how determined she was. Every time she found a toy at a store she wanted me to buy for her I would remind her what she was saving for. And she would be very quick to put the toy back. Even when the girl at Claire's that went right before her was crying and in pain she still stuck to her guns. She didn't cry at all.

Right before showing the lady how she was going to hold her breath and be brave. She did so good. And is SO excited to show off her sparkle ears.

We got 2 Chinese exchange students for the year. It is boys this year and we are pretty excited. Dave introduced them to his mini games REALLY fast.

They are from the same city and are friends already and have been roommates before too. They built their own robot that they have competed in international competitions. They brought it with them. Jensen is always asking if he can go down to their room and play with the robot.

And I couldn't resist posting pictures of Lily taking this onesie putting her legs in the sleeves and wrapping the bottom around a basket.

Jensen had his first day of school. He is having a tough time transitioning from summer fun mode to pay attention mode. But I think he will catch on quick.

My awesome friend Sarah came to visit from Florida. I can't believe it had been three years since I had hung out with her. I miss her and selfishly want her to move out west. Lily and her were like best buds.

Grand Canyon!
My Uncle got a permit to guide a 16 passenger boat through the grand canyon. We luckly got to got. The kids stayed with my saint of a sister in law. So Dave and I got to go on a trip of a lifetime. Seeing the canyon from the rims is like reading a synopsis of a book in the back cover. You get the gist but miss SO SO much. There are so many incredible side canyons and hikes. We stopped at least twice a day to go on hikes. We took out at the very top at Lee's Ferry.

The boat was HUGE it was 38" long.

We would stop at night on the banks. Most of the time they were sand banks made by the river. It was NOT a leisure crise. You had to load and unload all the grear and set up camp and cook every evening. It was really fun though because there was great company.

Amazing Black Tail. We were up at the top of this canyon seeing the waterfall. We had heard alot about flash floods. All the sudden it started raining and we heard this terrible growl that sounded like rushong water. We all freaked out and started running down the canyon. Then we realized it was the wind and not a flash flood. We felt pretty silly.

Deer Creek. It was a climb straight up the side of the canyon.

The trail led along the canyon wall. The trail got as skinny as about a foot across leading into a chasm below. It was awesome.

The water was really cold about 40 degrees. Mom was really hesitant to go in aany cold water. So I pushed her in.

Jensen graduated from preschool and turned 5

Jensen had so much fun in preschool and is very ready to start kindergarten in the fall. It is interesting to deal with the first "summer" break. What do I do with my child?

Angelina our Chinese echange student graduated. Congrats Angelina! Well it was at Red Rocks Ampitheater which 85% of the time is georgous. The day of graduation it was NOT. It was 37 degrees heavy rain and sleet. Poor Angelina wasn't dressed for the freezing rain AT ALL. She stood out in the freezing rain for three hours.

We watched with the missionaries Hallberg and D'Andrea.

We were all very wet and cold by the end.

Update #2

Dave had an emergency trip out to Illinois. His oldest sister Dawn died instantly in a car crash. We are all very sad. We were glad Dave could go out to the funeral and cry with his family. We will miss dawn.

I had a trip planned with the kids for the same week so I'm sad I couldn't be with Dave. My mom and my sisters Celeste and Marcia all met up in Branson MO for cousin camp. We had 7 little cousins all under 7. It was like herding cats most of the time. But it was really nice to see my sisters and for the kids to hang out.

We had a craft for everyday. One day we made tie dye shirts so the kids would all match at the amusment park Silver Dollar City.

I wish I would have taken more pics. I'll just have to steal some from my sister. Ahh the beauty of digital.

Sorry I'm WAY behind on updates. Here is Easter. JJ is growing out of his train phase and moving on to LEGOS. In JJ's easter basket he got legos to test how he would do with them. He did great. Dad loves that. I don't know who has more fun.

Making easter eggs

The neighbor hood hunt. Just a couple of neighbors. Everybody brings 12 eggs for each kid. It's relaxed and the little ones don't have to fight for survival.

One of our neighbors even dresses up like the Easter bunny.

We went over to mom and dad's for easter dinner to find the missionaries that live in the basement had dressed up as Easter Pirates. They san a song then led the kids on a treat hunt through the house.

It was very entertaining.

Charley is getting so big. She is now to the point where she thinks she is one of the big kids and she can do all the things that they can. She is climbing on everything and wanting to participate in everything and eat everything even though she still only has eight teeth. Yesterday she reached for a yogurt can only to dump it on her face.

This is one of those moments when you think am I being a bad mom? Instead of comforting my sad yogurt covered child I am running for my camera. hmmm...

We made a decision
Dave's employer El Paso oil and gas is closing their Denver office. We were given the choice to follow the company and move to Huston or to find a new job here in Denver. It has been an interesting week weighing the options but we have decided to try and find a new job here in Denver. All prayers are appreciated. And if anyone knows of a geotech job let us know:)

We took a short trip over to Utah. We got to show Angelina BYU and temple square and got to hang out with Dave's sister and my siblings. It was nice

Charley loved it when Hailey sprayed water into her mouth. It was really cute.

There is a new Disney show Jake and the Neverland Pirates. Its a pretty cute show. So we dressed up like pirates today. Lily has a little pouch full of pixie dust just like the girl pirate.

It was mom's birthday yesterday. I printed pictures of all the brothers and sisters and modge poged them onto tiles. It turned out pretty good. The kids has A LOT of creative input into the horse cake we made for mom. Happy Birthday MOM

This week had been pretty terrible. Dave and I both had pneumonia with a side of the flu, I had a side of ear infection and he had a chest infection. He stayed home sick and we took shifts of sleeping and being lumps on the couch while we kind of controlled the kids. The kids don't have it yet so pray for us the kids stay healthy.

January catch up
One of our exchange students moved next door. Our two teenage "only child" exchange students have decided they can be better friends with a little space. We are sad to see her go. It is crazy after just a few months in our house how much she felt like family. We are glad Angelina is still her she is a big blessing. This is Marti up on the table cutting out a pattern of a sweater vest she sewed for a friend. Angelina and I went to my friend Emily's Twilight party. I felt a little dumb not knowing any of the answers to the games but it was fun to get out and watch a movie with girls.

On the first Snow day of this school year we bundled the the kids up and went sledding.

The best thing to do as a family activity in the middle of winter- We reserved a racquetball court over at the rec center and played kickball and just generally had fun throwing/kicking and passing balls.

Don has a wedding reception here in Colorado so we got to hang out with my grandparents, Don and Austin( who goes into the Marines in April)

Merry Christmas!
I made three posts today so scroll down to catch up. We made an awesome gingerbread house with my mom my two exchange students plus a friend. I love Gingerbread houses. The kids loved the candy.

The girls went to an asian market and came home all fired up to make real chinese food we ate egg rolls for three days straight. they were awesome.

Christmas eve dinner. We showed up at my parents house only to find their stove was broken. You gotta love pictures ability to freeze a moment in time( weather or not it is worth remembering is a different subject)

After having a PlayStation for 2 years and treating it only as a blue ray player my parents finally bought a game. Here are my parents singing . And me and Dave rockin' the dancing.

I know I'm behind so here is a brief summary.
Dave's brother from Illinois, and sister from Utah came over for Thanksgiving it was AWESOME. We had a ton of fun just chillin out. My two sister and laws and I and my exchange students did do an all night black Friday shopping trip that was CRAZY. These are pics from the train show.

Happy Halloween!
Here is my teaser for what we did for costumes. We cut pumpkins and what did Jensen have Dave carve? Thomas the train. SURPRISE!

And what did Lily have me carve. Cinderella. Another not so big Surprise. We didn't get anymore pumpkin pictures because 30 second later the "I'll do it myself" Jensen picked up his pumpkin to move it out side and dropped it. Oh well.

Okay so our costumes were? You guessed it Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

At the ward Halloween party. I have high hopes every year to take home a prize. But this ward is tough competition and we haven't grabbed the prize yet.

Our exchange students had a day off so we went on a little hike at Roxburough state park. It was beautiful.

Danica and Dave McDonald coming through.

Dave's work sponsored a food drive so a couple of people from his office got to ride super fast go carts. Mom and Dad took the kids to the circus and we took to the carts. Normal go carts go about 10-15 miles per hour. We figured the leaders were going 40 and Dave and I were about 35. It was super fun!

Okay so I have a story to tell. When I was pregnant with my first, before I knew what sex the baby was, I saw a little girl in a tutu at the store. I broke down and cried. I was SO scared to have a little girl that was girly and needed to wear a dress to the grocery store. Pink, and dresses, and little bling outfits were petrifying to me.
And here comes Lily. She is the best little sparkly pink princess EVER. She has converted me to the world of being a mom of a true girl. When she was barley a year old she would wake up from her nap and point to her closet demanding to wear a dress. Everyday at bedtime or just to go to the library she frequently has a dress on over her clothes. I LOVE and ADORE my princess Lily. She is so very special and I'll go pink for her any day.

Anyway so when it came time for her birthday there was no question. We had a princess dress up tea party.

She had a couple of her little friends over to be princesses.

Angelina and Marti LOVED decorating the castle cake with hearts and sprinkles all over the pink frosting.

We painted their nails.

We put make-up on.

They completed their outfit with earrings and tiaras. We sat down to milk and cookies.

And talked about how COOL it is to be a princess.

So a couple of big things have happened.

JJ started preschool and he LOVES it!
He feels he has learned so much he felt he could cut Lily's hair.
It is the PERFECT mullet. Tiana is coming in to town to try and fix it.

And we got 2 wonderful exchange students from China for the year. Angelina and Marti. We had to do some creative moving about but we are glad to have them with us.

And we went to Pikes peak! That was pretty Awsome.

Jensen has been very concerned with what boys like and what girls like. Boys like peanut butter sandwiches girls like hot dogs. Girls like sneakers boys like sandals. Anything he likes now belongs to the realm of boy. And anything he doesn't enjoy- girls must like.

On the Move. Charley is in full fledged "I can move by myself mode" She is pulling herself up on couches and stairs. Last night she discovered she could pull herself up in her bed. Yeah for little baby Independence.

I love what she does when she eats she gets excited and does this little shake it is so cute.

Trip to Utah and Celeste in town
We went out to Utah for a Hogan Family reunion and got to meet Don's girlfriend now fiance Leslie. She is awesome and we are so excited to have her join the family in November.

Mom paid for us girls to go get pedicures. And what did I do? I smashed my toes and made them all mangled and ugly the next day.

Dave and I slipped away to go up to Breckenridge for a weekend.

It was nice to get away and chill out a bit.

So we have hit an AMAZING milestone.

Jensen and Lily are PLAYING TOGETHER. they aren't just playing side by side or fighting. They are actually playing TOGETHER. I am in mom heaven. It is like my direct supervision ie,pulling them off each other while they try and claw each other's eyes out, has gone down by 50%. I LOVE IIITTTT!

Bed time. Nap time is pretty funny. Every single day Jensen goes to sleep in his room while Lily sleeps with me in mine. But everyday he complains" I need girls in my bed. I need my girls." And he begs for Lily to sleep in her part of the bunk bed. But they would never sleep so I don't let it happen. MY GIRLS! I NEED GIRLS!

10 year Reunion

So It was my High School Reunion this weekend. And since it was 5 minutes away I went! It was really fun to see a bunch of people that I had a lot of fun with. It was nice to see most were happy and doing good. I won a prize. I HAVE THE HIGHEST AMOUNT OF KIDS! I'm proud of that one:) Abby Olsen (Stone)

Hertiage Park!
Dave's company paid for all day unlimited passes for us at Hertiage Square. It was AWSOME! Dave's parents were in town so we got to have a really nice time hanging out with them and riding the rides.
One of the definite highlights was the magic show the magician called Jensen up to supervise the "girl in the box"

He even got to push a couple swords in the box.

Branson Missouri
I'm recovering from strep throat so I'm finally getting these pics from our trip to Branson up. My parents own a rental house out in Branson so we met up with my sister the Baillio crew and tore up Branson for a week. I was really nice. They call it the "Family" Vegas. There are shows and parks and lots of good family activities. Traveling with 3 kids on an airplane was an experience all by it self. But what isn't an experience with a 8 month old, VERY TWO year old and a just barely 4 yr old- just old enough to get charged to go into places.

We went to the amusement park Silver Dollar city and rode the train

There were quite a few rides the kids could go on maybe you can see Lily's little head with Celeste.

Dave, Brad and I went into the cave attached to the park while Celeste Mom and Dad tore up some roller coasters. That was a little crazy especially 2 hours past nap time cold wet and small spaces.

It was awesomely beautiful though

We ate at a restaurant that had a "magic table" As soon as you got you food. Your table starts magically rising on a hydraulic pump. With the kids distracting us it took a while for us to figure it out:)

The Amazing Flying tent! Dave and Jensen went on our ward's Father Son campout. They had a lot of fun until bout 11:30pm when it started getting REALLY windy. They put up with it for over an hour until Dave finally started packing up. He got JJ and all the stuff out of the tent and into the car. He went back to take the remaining 4 stakes out when the wind caught the tent- stakes and all -and sent it far far away. Dave chased it for a little while than rightfully gave up. He thinks it still would have blown away with the stakes AND with Jensen inside. So yeah crazy hard wind! Jensen was really upset they were going home without the tent. He kept saying we have to go find the tent or I can't ever go camping with daddy again! He was very sad.

ALL ABOARD!
Jensen's 4th birthday was today and it was a ton of fun. It was a train party.

I made the Thomas cake.
I had my friends save all their diaper boxes for months. Each kid had a box covered in butcher paper. We put faces and wheels and stickers on each of their trains.

We went for a train ride around the backyard including stops at the quarry and the docks. notice cranky the crane.

The star!

Every Mother's Day primary song needs a sunbeam to make it fun. Well for my first time having a kid singing up there Jensen did not disappoint. JJ is usually kind of shy but he saw his opportunity to talk into that microphone and he seized it. He RAN up to the stage. The little girl that was singing a solo got shoved to the side while Jensen wildly grabbed for the microphone. While the 4 moms were singing with the kids JJ was trying to push his way in. When the song was over he wouldn't leave the stage and one of the mom's had to carry his "dead weight" little body off. It was really funny and he got to shine, but didn't get to talk into the microphone- another time Jensen:)

Don came home safe from Afghanistan! It has been nice to be able to hang out with him and Austin for a couple of weeks.

I got them to to some work for me too- even better!

Easter!

So I survived surgery and am feeling almost back to normal. So I thought I would post all my awesome pictures I have collected in the last two weeks. We had a little Easter egg hunt with about 10 families and all their kids.

One of my friends' husband owns a firetruck for his business he brought it to the egg hunt and took all the kids for a ride.

In the midst of feeling "gall bladdery" and recovering from surgery we got the pleasant breath of the Smith's coming through our house. Marybeth is one of the sweetest people I know. She was in my house as my guest and she did all my dishes and cleaned my house. I'm so lucky to have a great sister-in-law like her. Anyway here are some of the pics from their visit.

So here is a story for you-

So there I was at 1am feeding the baby when this INCREDIBLE pain shot through my body. It was SO intense and consistent. I woke up Dave he called ask a nurse. They told him to hangup right away and call 911. So in come 6 paramedics into my bedroom. Asking the same terrible questions again and again.
"So how is the pain now"
"The same"
"So on a scale from one to ten what would you rate your pain?"
"A TEN"
30 seconds pass
"So how is the pain now?"
I really truly hate that 1-10 pain scale
Anyway we went to the ER and found out I have Gallstones. And I am scheduled for surgery on Thursday. I'm feeling fine now I just can't eat Chinese, Mexican, Italian, or really ANYTHING else until I get my gallbladder out. Good story huh. We will see how it all turns out:)

I love my husband. He is so unselfish and loving. It is my birthday coming up and he went and donated plasma twice a week for the past two months to save up to buy me a Kitchenaid mixer. I have been telling Dave I wanted one for oh four years. I am so blessed to have a good man who is willing to sacrifice and work to make me happy:) Happy day!

Saturday was pretty much a perfect day for me. We woke up slow. We relaxed a bit. Then we walked outside to a BEAUTIFUL day. Dave took down the privacy screen in our yard. The previous owners had a hot tub, and I couldn't see the kids playing in the yard.

We hung out in the beautiful weather. Jensen played with...... TRAINS surprise.

Charley now almost five months giggled and smiled.

Lily pushed Charley off the blanket and wrapped herself up in it.
And Dave got stuff done:)

Later Dave worked on three computers at once. We had nap time then....
We went to Chuck E. Cheese! I've never been with kids, just a friend's 27?th B-day party trying to prove she is still young:)

We signed up a couple days before to be members and we got an awesome coupon for token. It was SO much fun. We had plenty of tokens thanks to the coupon. The kids loved being able to play anything they wanted and push all the buttons their little heart's desired.

WE HAVE A CAMERA!

So I lost our camera last month and I finally fessed up and bought a new one.

Yesterday was my mom's birthday. Jensen was so cute. I asked him what we should do for grandma. He decided to be SO SUPER SWEET and give grandma one of his favorite trains. I love that little boy. He wrapped it himself.

I did it!

So my Beehives voted for what activity they wanted to do. 3 out of 10 voted to learn how to make candy. Harumph. I didn't know, how and I couldn't find anybody else who knew, so it was time for Library books and google searches, even contacting my old mission president's wife. Hard candy and lollipops are pretty easy you just follow the recipes. Then I moved on to toffee. I LOVE TOFFEE. I love almond roca, I love English toffee, I love Skor bars, and I was bound and determined to make toffee. Turns out toffee is pretty hard to make. I have tried at least 6 different recipes multiple times. I tried about 14 times to make a toffee that was hard yet not break your teeth hard. I DID IT! I do what I normally do and took bits and pieces from a bunch of stuff until it works. Well it did and it is TASTY!

Now I just need to figure out what to do with all this toffee!

Here it is if you have any desire to have yummy homemade toffee.

Soft Roca:
Coarsely grate 2 cups milk chocolate
Coarsely grate 2 cups almonds

Layer 3/4 of the almonds on a 13x15 cookie sheet

In heavy frying pan, melt 1 pound butter (must be butter). Add 2 cups sugar, and 1 cup whipping cream, cook on medium heat and stirring constantly (don't even think about answering the phone), with a flat bottom utensil. Keep the temp low- it takes a while so be patient
When the color of the sugar/butter mixture starts to change from the creamy yellow to a soft tan color, (If you have a candy thermometer it is somewhere between 280 and 300 degrees)pour evenly over the almonds and chocolate on the cookie sheet. . Sprinkle the remainder of the chocolate on top with the remainder of the almonds on top of the chocolate. Lightly pat the nuts into the melting chocolate. Place in refrigerator at least 24 hours. Break up and serve at room temperature.

So there I was....

At walmart. We have successful concluded a oil change/ grocery/ odd ends trip. My kids each have a clearance 2 dollar toy that makes them happy, makes them stay sitting in the cart, and we are almost through check out- Whew! So Lily decides she doesn't want her little tea set. Fine. Set it aside. I'm talking to the cashier and ERUPTION! Both Lily and Jensen explode with tears and crying and screaming and trying to leap from the cart. I'm trying to keep them from falling to their deaths, put my bags on the cart, and listen to what in the world they are upset about. I'm super embarrassed and I look to the other customers and the lady, in her late 30's, behind me is rolling her eyes at the other Customers. ROLLING HER EYES! How old are you 13? Excuse ME that made me extremely upset. I was so hurt and upset and just MAD. I'm already upset enough I don't need an adult to mock me and my kids like that. Have some patience and compassion!

I'm a good parent. I love and take care of my kids. I listen to my kids and I am not a jerk to them. My kids are 3,2, and 3 months. They are going to act like children because they don't get a toy they want. That lady however is an adult and she should be mature enough to understand how children act.

I called my sister after I left and we talked about all the nasty things I should have done or said to her. She came up with the best one. I should have turned and talked to her nicely about her trip to the store and ask her if every thing was going well for her. Especially since as soon as I got off the phone with my sister Jensen told me how the lady rolled her eyes at us. They understand way more than I'm comfortable with sometimes.

Anyway I'm done ranting. And next time I'll have a real zinger for someone with the patience of a knat for toddlers who want a toy.

Merry Christmas!
What a great opportunity to celebrate Christ and the wonderful blessings we have because of his life. I asked my beehives to memorize "The Living Christ" So I have been frantically trying to get my sloshy noggin to memorize it as well. Some of my favorite parts are:

"He instituted the sacrament as a reminder of His great atoning sacrifice. He was arrested and condemned on spurious charges, convicted to satisfy a mob, and sentenced to die on Calvary's cross. He gave His life to atone for the sins of all mankind. His was a great vicarious gift in behalf of all who would ever live upon the earth. "

I made matching PJ's for everybody for Christmas Eve.

Lily had so much fun unwrapping. She helped everybody unwrap their presents. She got a little people house and a kitchen and some puppies.

Jensen of course got only trains and he was in heaven.

You know sometimes the box is more exciting than the thing that came in it:)

I was wondering why this awsome kitchen was so cheap at Walmart. It was because it took my dad and the elder 2 hours to assemble. It should have said on the box "Monsterous amout of assembly required"

And Dave has been working on his miniature game Decent. He made this awsome 3-D game board. And he gets to play with his friends while I sit with the kids in the family room blogging and containing the kids. Merry Christmas Dave:)

Denver Zoo Lights

Dave won a year membership to the Denver Zoo at his work party. So we decided to go to the Zoo lights. It was really fun. The only unfortunate part was waiting in line for over an hour just to get in! It was a bit cold too. But we warmed up in the smelly zoo houses along the way. Grandpa was in charge of Lily. She is such a 2 year old. This is her pouting when we told her she needed to either hold hands or sit in the stroller.

Grandma had the idea of a leash and it worked remarkably well. Grandpa took off his belt and looped it around her pants.

JJ of course got to ride the train. He was a sucker for the train and the zoo map.

I love thanksgiving. It is a time to see family and hang out without all the stress of Christmas. But before I get to thanksgiving I need to catch up. We went to a model train expo where it was an all things train event Jensen went crazy. He literally was running from one table to the next. I love my little train lover.

POLICE STANDOFF!
CRAZY! So Dave and I are turning off lights and locking up at about 9 ( yes I know that is early but we are tired people!) And I heard what sounded like a radio. I couldn't figure out where the sound was coming from. I looked outside to see a cop car directly in front of our house. It was a police negotiator talking our armed neighbor out from the house. There were over 8 cop cars surrounding the house and a tons of cops with shot guns and other loaded weapons. YEAH SO MY NEIGHBORHOOD IS CRAZY! We turned off all our lights and watched the drama unfold from our bedroom. The cops kept flashing their flashlights into our bedroom to shoo us back. About 10:30 pm 911 called with a recorded message telling us to stay in our houses. Dave and I literally fell asleep listening to the negotiator talk to the gunman. They were preping for a forced entry before we nodded off. Unfortunately we fell asleep before the resolution a t 1 am when 911 called and said we could resume our activities. I'm so glad 911 allowed us to go back to sleep.

So this is the 2nd incident this year. At Easter a friend of our neighbor had a "domestic dispute" and a firetruck came to wash the blood off the concrete after investigators took pictures of the scene for like 3 hours.

Halloween!

I love Halloween it is so fun to make costumes and go out with the kids. I also love to check out all of your blogs and see what you guys did. It was especially fun because the kids TOTALLY got it and RAN from house to house. Jensen was a green, his favorite color, knight. And I converted a pony from Goodwill into a ridable pony. So she was a princess riding a pony. Of course it snowed 2 1/2 feet a day before so she only got to show off the pony at the church party . Dave made a kicking sword and we painted it green of course.

The McDonald's came to town!

Dave's parent's came out for a week to meet Charley. It was so nice to have them here. The kids miss their Grandma and Grandpa McDonald and they helped me so much while they were here.

Grandma stayed busy drawing pictures and reading books to the kids and taking Charley off my hands when I have to run to pull one of the older kids off the other before bones break.

Dave roped his dad into working for us while he was here. They went to Home Depot 3 times a day and kept busy sanding and nailing and constructing.

They finished this beautiful toy chest and completely redid the picnic table. I'm so excited for the stain to dry!

I'm working on finishing Halloween costumes this week and we carved pumpkins last night. The kids are still a little young to get totally into it but we have fun.

Welcome Baby "Charley"

This little beauty is the latest to join our little family. I was not feeling well so they were going to do an amniocentesis to find out if the lungs were developed enough to induce. This is one of God's miracles and great blessings. Because we were watching my health we found that my amniotic fluid had dropped from a 10 on Monday to a dangerous 3.5 on Friday the 16th. So we got to induce at 37 weeks and get Charlene Hazel. We are all doing well and my recovery is a TON easier and I haven't felt lightheaded or dizzy since about an hour after delivery. Another miracle!

The older kids are doing great with her and ALWAYS want to hold their little sister.

Its been a rough week and I wanted to update you because we need prayers.

Last week I was dizzy and lightheaded off and on. Wednesday afternoon it started being constant and it has not let up. We are going on day 5 of constant lightheadednes dizziness and a headache and being confined to bed/ the couch. I've been in to see the doctor and spent Thursday night in the Maternity ward/ ER until 3 am. ( Thanks dad for taking the kids!) They ran some test and decided despite what is going on with my head the baby is okay. They even did an MRI to see if there was a tumor or some other head ailment. All I have to say is an MRI is an experience. One I hope not to repeat soon:)

Any way Dave is keeping watch over our little family this weekend. He is doing so good taking care of me and the kids. For those who know me it drives me NUTS to be laying down and not "Doing." Come Monday hopefully we will get some help with babysitting the kids.

My hope is this is some sort of bacterial infection or virus that will go away on its own soon, if not if the baby is causing it we can get that baby out so I can hold her, and so I can take care of the rest of the family. Any way please remember us in your prayers.

Happy Fall!
We've had a "quick succession of busy nothings." I've had two a week appointments with the OB because my amniotic fluid is low and they are keeping a close eye on the baby. Everything is looking okay but we sure could use your prayers.
Dave has been busy at work. He has been pulling extra duty donating plasma twice a week. It means an extra 10 hours a week away from home. We are working REALLY hard on climbing out of the debt hole. Dave is sacrificing a ton to help us on our way.

Hello my friends!
I have so much to comment on! My mom worked really hard and gathered ALL my brothers and sisters- ALL six of us- Together last weekend. It was SO nice. We hadn't seen Don in a while. He just got back from his second tour in Iraq and now he is training up to go to Afganistan. Please pray for him. We love you Don. Any way all of us were together and I don't have very many pics but here are some. Celeste and Brooklyn had fun with my kids around the local parks and it was tons of fun. She brought her new baby Hunter. What a cute chunk!Sammy and Jensen putting puzzles together. I was his birthday while they were here. Jensen keeps telling me how cool Sammy is and how cool his Spiderman birthday was.

Okay so I wanted to say. I love being a mom one of my favorite things is being able to see the differences in personalities in each kid that is SO huge. It is not just that one is a boy and one is a girl. The fundamental personalities are very different. Jensen loves control and order being methodical and can't stand tactile messiness. Lily will jump off things she has no business being on top of. She gets in the mud and gets dirty whenever possible. And yes SHE STILL EATS DIRT every single time we go outside.

I'm doing a low intensity home preschool with my kids and the differences couldn't be plainer. We were making faces in the pudding -(ie happy, sad, scared and so on). So they had total permission to use their fingers and make a big mess. I made a good mess around my plate and got my hands all gross. Lily was loving it. And you can tell from the picture she got totally messy. Jensen would not touch the pudding with his hands and his area was immaculate. Oh I love my kids.

Happy 4th Anniversary It has been four crazy awesome years. I am so thankful to my very good friend and my committed companion. I am so blessed to have such a like minded person to help me through being me. I am so thankful for his smile and his ability to always always always make me laugh. He promised that to me as my wedding present. I had no idea how treasured and valuable that gift would be. I trust him with all that I have. I love him with all that I can give. David, I love you.
